Elusive peace of mind
Just as I want to sit quietly
The prattling powers prevent
My mind from clearing out the mayhem
Which somehow is empowered
The moment it is not welcome
Then comes an open space
I exist in another place
A warmly lit meadow
Time becomes meaningless
The mind is still and rests
Until some springs of thought
Bubble up again and flow through
A tiny channel -then become a river
Which finds a path of least resistance
Through my now splashing, gushing mind
Just as I want to sit and be
In that other wondrous peace
That other open place
Yet this time it is closer
And I just want to sit there
Forever…………..
