Summer may be gone
Yet in my heart it lingers
Spreading its warmth
The days grow shorter
Light has become a treasure
More precious than gold
Squirrels always know
That winter is on its way
Hunger will return
Yellow flecks appear
Here and there a splash of red
Appears in the trees
Dear Chi,
These are for you-
Brave traveler through life and Long Island!
Love,
Nori
